About Us
BauHeim Builders LLC, was founded in 2006, as a high quality residential and light commercial general contracting and home building company, serving the greater Chittenden County area.
We specialize in design/build projects for new home construction as well as creative, cost-conscious renovations and additions, with a focus on green building and energy efficiency. Working both with local architects, and using our in-house design team, we lead clients through the entire construction process, from concept to completed project. From 4000 square foot new homes to 450 square foot additions, we work with all clients to successfully realize their house/project’s full potential. As a team of three owners, we bring a wide variety of skills and educational and work experiences to every project. Our diverse backgrounds in environmental science, building science, architectural history, fine arts, timber framing, custom furniture making, sustainable building, green building design, and the passive house movement, allow us to tackle any building challenge, from multiple angles.

“BauHeim”, meaning “home builders” in German, is derived from the last names of the founding partners, Louchheim and Baumgaertel, and pays tribute to the BauHaus movement of the Modern Architecture time period.
